Amanda Charles Glass
Amanda is trained in ceramics and glass and her passion is kiln formed glass which she feels is the perfect medium to work with. Inspired by the modernist Bauhaus movement, she creates glass art in an abstract, geometric and linear style, combining transparent, opalescent and dichroic glass. She focuses on the expressive power of colour, contrast, light reflection and absorption to achieve chromatic harmony. Her vibrant contemporary pieces have a tactile quality inviting the viewer to touch the surface of the glass. She layers contrasting and complimentary glass to add texture and dimension, so that the artwork continually changes with the viewpoint, and lighting.
